I just turned 40,000 miles on my C6 and on comes the check engine light. I looked it up in the manual and it appears it has to do with emissions mostly.
Has anyone had any problems with this? Any thoughts?
I would advise you to take it to an automotive parts seller that will hook up a electronic scanner to the car and they will tell you what part is malfunctioning. Then you can repair it. Most likely it is usually the oxygen sensor or the spark plug is not firing on one of the cylinders.
It doesn't cost anything to diagnose the problem. If it is the oxygen sensor, it will tell you either bank 1 or 2 , which means either the left or right sde header pipe, closest to the engine is where you will find the oxygen sensor.
