A few years ago we got hit by one, my F150 got really messed up, except for the camper top...fiberglass, my wife had a 95Mustang at the time the roof and fenders
the hood not a single ding...made out fiberglass

Yep, back when I had a C4. It was maybe 3/8" to 1/2". Didn't really care much as I was trying to get home as there was a tornado in the area.....ya know when its green outside. I was doing 90+...didn't care about the hail. This was the same storm that sadly and ultimately leveled Jarrell Texas. 
In the end, the tornado missed us and the Vette was fine. Gotta love cars that don't dent!
