Wow. This scares me because, on about 5 occasions of late and only right after I start the car, "service active handling" comes across my dic. It doesn't stay on long. I am taking it in on Monday to make sure everything's ok. Thanks for posting.

This specific condition has to do with a cold car and hard turns. My C-5 did it and many others get it also. THIS condition is not a big deal. They probably won't find anything, though.
I've been having the same issue with mine as well, mostly on extreme (45 degrees or more) radius turns in low speed turns. It happened twice today and twice about a week ago. I called the dealership and they "never heard of it before."
definitely dangerous. Which site do we report this on?

Hold on: The "Service Active Handling" message means the system has detected a fault. Go to the dealer.
The "Active Handling" message will come up under some weird circumstances, like quick, hard, slow turns in a parking lot. That's okay.

Hold down the button with the burnout icon (on the center console).
My Active Handling light has come on (and stayed on) a couple of times while driving, with no warning, but I had no actual braking from it. I'm taking it in to the dealer this week. I got the same reference listed above, but the dealer sounded like they hadn't had any experience with it yet. Fortunately, I took a picture of my display, with my cell phone, when it came on, so I have evidence of the issue.
Okay, let me add to the list of active handling failures. I have a 06 C6 Z51 AT Coupe. Only 7500 miles on it. Twice the "Service Active Handling" warning has come on and stayed on. Each time the local dealer "fixed" it, saying something about having to reprogram the system.
This morning I am going down the road about 60 mph when the car jerks to the right, straightens out, jerks again and then began what felt like an alternating application of the right front brake and the left rear brake. Car really bounced back and forth as I got it off to the shoulder. Sure enough DIC said "Service Active Handling". Of course through these forums I now know what the real cause is likely to be and tomorrow I will see that the dealership checks out what I specify first.
Could have gotten a bit nasty if there had been a vehicle in the right lane or I was on a single lane road with a narrow shoulder. It was managable at 60 however I have had this car to the north side of 130 mph several times and I hate to think what would have happen in those circumstances. God help anyone in England or Australia that has this happen. Right into oncoming traffic.
