i've been following the building of my 08 coupe. it was shipped on 6/3.according to the event history it was bayed for 13 days. i hope it doesn't mean they had to fix something they broke. this ordering a new vette has caused me such anxiety i almost wish i had kept my 02. hope someone out there can answer my question. thanks!!!

Sounds like it was in a storage bay for 13 days before being shipped.

What was the event code while it was bayed? Does it show 4B00?

"bayed" means it was left outside in the parking bay area.

"stored" is the term they use when they keep it inside out of the elements (there can be alot of dust, soot and birds in Bowling Green)

It may just be waiting for enough cars to fill a truck going to your area. You didn't put your location in your profile, but some areas will take a while to fill a truck.

Ok. Then bayed means that the car was released from the line and sent to the Allied yard pending delivery. Several things can happen to the car at the end of the line.

For example:

A supplier problem can mean that a non-critical part could not be assembled to the car during its time on the production line and the car will be held along with all others that need the part at which time they will be completed and released.

A problem can be discovered during final inspection and testing and the car can be set aside for repair.

The car is selected for a random quality control audit this will add a day or two to the delivery under normal circumstances or longer if a problem is found.

The car is released and made ready for shipment and within a relatively short period of time the car is loaded on a truck and sent on its way.

The car is released and made ready for shipment but there are not enough cars slated for delivery to that area and the car is held pending a full truck ready to be shipped. This is what likely happened to your car. The 4B00 is what signals that for me.

Mine showed status 4B00 from 5-22 when it was built until 5-31 when it was finally shipped from BG.
