Victory red is about as dark hue I like. Torch red definitly shouts at you, my first choice...............and Precision red..... ......is red on a stay at home dreary day.........just like the red they had in '84 and they corrected that mess in the next year with the '85 model like they did w/ Precision shortly after the new C6 came out.

I prefer Torch Red ... but that's because I have a black ZO6 with a Mod interior (Torch Red and Black) I love the interior and the red.

I didn't know they made an "experimental" Torch Red C6...........but I like it!
I also like the Victory Red.
Both Torch Red and Victory Red are fantastic colors.
The other "reds" are in my opinion...."maroons", and only just border on being classified as being "reds'. Not that they are colors I don't like, I do, but a red to me is a red that "shouts" at you. Torch Red certainly does that, and Victory Red is still loud enough to say "RED" to me.
I love both!

The particular car that I reference above was painted at the factory on June 25 2004 (VIN 1G1YY24U855100273, under the authorization of Joe Spielman and Wil Cooksey. It was then shipped to Detroit for evaluation of the Corvette Brand Team.
Engineering students from Kettering University were present at the evaluation along with select GM executives and when polled liked the Torch red. Both camps (Corvette design team vs. Corvette brand team and executives) made strong arguments. A comprimise was reached in the Victory red.

When you park a TR next to a VR, the TR might as well be called TO...Torch Orange.......TR is simply too orange for me. You don't see how orange that color is until you park it next to a true red.......like oh I don't know, VR???

I think in the sun torch red and victory red look very similar but as night aproaches the torch red seems to be alot brighter.

Real sport cars are RED.....dont matter what RED....A Vette should just be RED.....From the early days to now.....I think because it is the fastest and hottest color ever made. even when a wanna be color pulls up next to a RED vette, you know the owner says deep inside...dam I should have got the RED

I would buy the TR over the VR if it were available. When I want to see TR on my C6 now I wear my Maui Jim amber tinted sun glasses and look at my Victory Red convertible and voila...a Torch Red C6

I agree with the orange comments. I think the VR is too orange, the TR is just that much worse. I wish GM had used a more true red color like a ferrari, now that is a true red.

I was parked next to a TR C5 at a show recently...this was the first time I could compare the colors side-by-side (under flourescent lighting). I was surprised at how much "orange" hue is in the TR compared to the VR. I am partial to the VR myself...

I love Torch Red...... and when I saw the one and only example on te floor of the Museum I wanted it.
I'd love to see Torch Red come back- it's an awesome color in any light.

when victory red is next to a sporty bright red, victory red looks almost like a dull burgundy, gm makes the car for the 50+ crowd so they go with more reserved colors.
