I've recently noticed that the plastic lens directly above the driving lamp is starting to discolor. I took it to the dealer and the Service Manager agreed that it is being caused by the heat from the driving lamp, but would not cover it under warranty. He then said that he could "maybe" get it through a customer "satisfaction claim", but now won't return my calls, and conveniently is never there when I drive to the Dealer.
Has anyone else noticed this happening to their headlights? If so, have you had any success in getting them replaced? It's hard to see in the pictures, but it is much worse in reality. Both sides are doing it. The car is an '05 with 18K miles (garage kept).
If it is on the outside of the lens (has rougher feel than the surrounding area), there are polishing kits out there that will take car of it. However, if you are still under the 3/36 warranty, I would first try another dealer and see if they will replace it under warranty for you.
This is on the inside of the lens. I guess maybe I will try another Dealer. My original 3/36 runs out in about a week. I have the GMPP, but it specifically states that it doesn't cover lenses. I just think the original warranty should.

Just make sure the next dealer opens the repair order before your 3/36 warranty runs out. Even if they need to order the parts, the repair order needs to be opened before the 3/36 is up and stay open until the parts are installed.

Thanks for an actual, intelligent answer (really). I posted this earlier this afternoon, and it still amazes me that most of the posts on this forum lately only get responses if they're asking about..."what color should I buy", or "why doesn't my car sound like a Ferrari?".
I used to post a lot on this forum, but I'm sorry to say that I think most of you need to grow a pair. This is my first post in a while in the C6 section, I'll go back to the C2 section where men (and women) enjoy their Corvettes and don't act like high school kids.
I can't understand why the heat would affect it when its above the DRL and not one of the main bulbs...at least thats the way it looks to me from the pic

Then they pulled out a service sheet to show me
that its normal. I say bs.
Was the bulletin about condensation? This is not condensation.
Update: Went back to the Dealer today. After a long conversation with the Service Manager, he agreed to change them out. He says he can't do it under warranty (don't understand why), but will be willing to do it just for "customer satisfaction". I have to take the car in on June 18 or so. I hope he is being straight with me...I'll let you know after I take it in.
Note: A friend also has a C6 with about the same mileage and his are starting to do it also. You might want to take a close look at yours.
