I have the stock radio/cd player combo. I made a few of my own cd's, but no matter what I do, I cannot get the songs to play in the order they are on the cd..including naming each song beginning with 01,02 etc...they want to play in alphabetical order and ignore the numbering at the start of each file name. The random play is turned off so that should not be a problem.
Does anyone know how to burn these cds so that the songs play in MY order, not alphabetically ? Maybe instead of numbering each file I need to start with AA, BB etc ??
They play just fine on my pc no matter what player I use, so the issue is the oem C6 player. Thx.
BTW, just under 18k miles in just over 3 yrs. What a trip its been !
they are mp3's, and yes the random play is off and they play alphabetically not randomly, and ignore the 01, 02 etc at the beginning of the file names.
does anyone know what is the proper way to record the mp3's so that they all play? is there a set format that i should follow? any advise please???
There are a few different threads out there that address the best way to do it with different programs so you might want to do a search to find the method that best matches your software. I use iTunes and it burns the CDs without any problems as long as the names are less than 23 characters.
Are all of the files in a single folder or are you using subfolders?
not sure lol. I saw the info about folders in the manual...my cd has the individual mp3 files on it, labeled (example) 01-the rippingtons - club paradiso.mp3 02-Steve Oliver - Feeling Good.mp3 03-Kim Waters - Until Dawn.mp3 and it would play Kim Waters first, followed by Steve Oliver, then The Rippingtons. So is that folders or sub folders or just files ??
maybe 3 digits at the front instead of 2 should be used ? Or aa- like aa-aardvark-road kill.mp3 ??? Guess I could play with various names and see what happens.
Thx

There are probably other ways of playing songs in the order that you want, depending on the burning software that you are using, but an alphabetical assignment (i.e., aa, ab, ac, ad, etc.) placed at the beginning of the file name followed by a space, will work.
