I know there is an access panel inside the fender well that I have opened. Once I have this open what is the best/easiest way to remove the light? I didn't want to start messing around because that is when I break stuff.
To replace a high-beam or front parking/turn signal/DRL
bulb, do the following:
1. Turn the wheel to allow access to the wheel well.
2. Access the high-beam or front parking/turn signal
bulbs by removing the access panel. To do this,
remove the three outer fasteners and move
the cover back.
3. Remove the outer cover to expose the high-beam
headlamp bulb socket once the access cover has
been removed.
4. Remove the headlamp
bulb by releasing the
outer tabs from
the socket.
5. Remove the front parking/turn signal bulb by turning
the bulb socket counterclockwise.
6. Replace the high-beam headlamp bulb with a new
bulb and reattach to the bulb socket.
Replace the front parking/turn signal bulb by turning
the bulb socket clockwise.
7. Reverse the Steps 2 through 4 to reinstall.
There are diagrams in the book with the text (above). There may also be some instructions in the C6 FAQ sticky.
I don't think that removing the bulb will allow removal of a bug. But others here know more....
anyone, anyone, Bueller?
The bulb fits into a socket that is behind a lens which is enclosed under the lexan protective cover. When you access the bulb you will only get access as far as the socket and you will still be kept behind the lens.

I was hoping to snake a small tube in there and use a shop vac to suck it out.
