It's NOT a CAI, it's just an air box and filter replacement that still uses warm air thats been thru the radiator and across the engine and then made a 180° turn over the top of the radiator to reach the new filters.

I respectfully disagree. If you put a C6 on a lift, you will find large airpaths on both sides of the car, underneath, that lead directly to the area where the air cleaners reside. Those who monitor inlet air temperature find that it climbs to ridiculous levels with the car standing still, but comes right down to within a few degrees of ambient with the car moving at a nice clip. Our engines would not be rated at 400 HP, or 430 HP, or 436 HP if they were forced to breathe hot post-radiator air ! ! !

I was contemplating the Halltech stinger myself (i been torn between a bunch of brands). Of course i want the shroud cover as well.
So my '08 has those air paths as well? I may have to take a look myself, right now in fact.
That would be great since I was thinking that the stingers filter resides in an area where it appears that hot post radiator air makes comes in.

Big companies like GM and Apple change products like this to shake up/ **** off aftermarket accessory vendors... For example, everytime a new iPod/ iPhone comes out all your old accessories no longer fit or work... They've been doing this stuff for years! Their loyal customers keep coming back for more...

I think everybody would agree that the stock air box is not a CAI? If all thats being replaced is the filter and/or air box then the replacement can't be a CAI either.
I just looked at the '08, the only fresh air path to the Filter is a fraction of an inch gap around the radiator support brackets, all the air has to come thru the radiator and around the engine.
There is no air ducts bringing in fresh air on the '08. I just recently installed the honker which requires cutting the shroud. I checked while I had the shroud out and no air ducts.
Also the Honker, Vortex Ram Air (to name a few) are true CAI's. Any unit that does not bring in fresh air should be called an HAI (Hot Air Intake).
