The roof was the deciding factor for me. I was going to get a Z until I found the roof was not removable. I like riding with the roof out on nice days too much to give that up. Yeah the Z would dust me above 150 or so vs my LS3 but are you really going to use all the power? 436 LS3 works fine for me when Im riding around with the roof out!

you will see what i feel about the differences. both amazing cars, but there are reasons to go up.

I loved removing my roof too. That was the one thing that held me back from getting the Z. Obviously I overcame that issue and after I got my **** inside the Z all I could think was; "Roof, what roof!!!"
stay with what you've got....financially it does not make any sense to make that move...do you competitively track your car? If not, the Z will not do you any better on the street than the LS3...
Plus, needles to say very shortly the "honeymoon" will be over with the Z but you will never get to recover the $s that you will throw down the drain....

I agree with you there. I could take or leave the roof. I have it and its nice, but for all the Z06 style and toys I trade it anyday. I wanted a Z too, but couldnt write that big check so I did the next best thing. I got supercharged and make way more than the 505 crank hp.

thanks, very logical thinking, makes sense, I guess, if I don't get over the bug, I'll have to see
1. how much they will give me on a trade
2. how much out of pocket it's going to cost me
3. does it make sense financially
4. could I do other things with the money instead.
I'm fighting my checkbook hand right now, I have to keep slapping it from ripping a check out.
Anyone here also have a LS3, and suddenly have an urge to take the hit and get a ZO6..........I'm getting itchy, I need help.....
any suggestions how to get over this overpowering urge.
I am completely happy with the LS3, but if you just have to have a Z06 go for it. I'll stick with the stock car until the warranty runs out, then I might be ready for more power and do a few mods.
Lets face it, the LS3 or LS2 is over kill for he street ( Unless you are really stupid ) . The Z06 is even more overkill. Now if you track the car, well that is difference story...
