Default Please help. Top doesn't work

I got home with the top down. When I pushed the button to put the top up, nothing. It didn't budge. Not even an error light on the DIC. I decided I'd manually raise it and lower it to see if that corrected the problem. I vented the valve lowered it and then tried it again. Nothing the second time around. Any suggestions. The car just went out of warranty 15 days ago.

Bring it to the dealer. If it is a mechanical problem, I bet they fix it under warranty. Good Luck

First thing that I would check is the switch. Since you didn't have any alarms it might not have even known that you were trying to close it.

The power top will not operate if the windows are not working properly.

If your battery was recently disconnected or replaced, your windows may need to be re-indexed by doing the following:

Hope this helps!

checked the fuse? also, you've got Koons Chev. real close to you. they're pretty good at it. sooner is better re still being fixed under warranty.

tell us how it turns out and what it was.

Not meaning to insult, but it's always worth checking the easy stuff first -- did you have the parking brake set? The top won't operate without the brake signal.

That bit about the indexing windows is interesting. I'll have to check that. The battery died while I was filling the car up with gas with the top down. I think my battery is a piece of crap and I need to get a new one.

Anyway, I figured out what the problem was, sort of. The top works as long as I release the tonau, both when lowering and raising. I'll have to check the indexing again tomorrow. It's not the switch since as long as I release the tonau it works. I'm thinking it's the electric release on the tonau. I'll play around with it again tomorrow and if it doesn't work then I'll call the dealer.

Yup, I checked all the obvious stuff first: parking brake, trunk, release, trunk partition, and I think that's it. The indexing bit has me interested though. As I said, I'll have to look into that tomorrow.

I did check the fuse, although there's a couple of them and a relay. The fuses looked good so it may be the relay.

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I woke up this morning, went to the car, started it up, and amazingly the top went down all on it's own. When I got to work, it went up all on it's own. I have no idea what happened yesterday. I'm wondering if it was because te battery power was low. Not sure if that would have been enough to prevent the latch on the tonau from opening. Either way, it's time for a new battery.

When you were having trouble with your top were you trying to operate it without the engine running? I always have my engine running operation mine as not put a drain on the battery.

No, the engine was runnning, but as I said it's a bad battery Additionlly it had just died a few minutes prior to and it kept dipping down to about 12V and peaked at 13.8. Every time there was any drain on it it would drop down. Today, as I drive around it's around 14V without the headlights on. I'm going to replace it this weekend.

I had exactly the same problem on my 05. Make sure that the vertical compartment divider for the folded top in the trunk is snapped in place tightly. There is a pressure switch in the trunk, on the rear side of that divider (right side) where the vertical panel snaps in place. If that pressure switch is not fully depressed, the tonneau will not open. I taped mine down and then snapped the compartment divider back into place. The top has worked properly ever since.
