Default Found this under car??

Backed out of the garage today and discovered this 3"x3" piece of insulating material with a rubber/vinyl black backing laying on the floor. Crawled under car as best I can but could not determine if it fell from my vehicle. Any ideas?

Well if we were to turn back the hands of the clock more than 20 years and the car that you were backing out of the garage happened to be a DeLorean...........you might have to make a phone call to John DeLorean to ask if he is mising any corporate "contraband" assets?

May I ask - exactly what is this for - what purpose does it fill.

I just finished changing my oil a week ago and noticed both of mine were peeling off. Not sure what they are for.

Seem to remember it blocking off a hole, maybe helps seal out water. Glued mine back up with contact cement. Parts guy just had a blank look when I asked about "The tinfoil tar goo patch things"

Looks like insulation material similar to what Second Skin manufactures. It's used for heat and sound insulation.

It's part of the flux capacitor, I'd put it back on!
