Taking my base 05 to the track tonight i'm not driving the wife is ,she is going to race her brother's
c5. My car is stock except I have Borla's.Her brother's
has borla's and vararam.and upgraded max air.
My wife has not raced before,or myself. Both cars are
sticks Any advice to help her kick a** .I'm not racing
at this time because of bad back.
If it is her first time out, I would have her race it in Competition Mode, not Traction Control Off. You will lose very little time, being a newbie by keeping Comp Mode on. It will still allow the wheels to spin some, but if the car goes sideways, AH will kick in and get her straightened up.
Look at lowering the rear tire pressure to around 25psi. Increase the fronts to around 40psi. By doing so, you will gain more traction in the rear and slightly better reaction times on the fronts.
I would also launch the car at no more than 1500 rpms. And, if she experiences wheel hop, tell her to push in the clutch and let the car settle down and forget that run. I don't think you want to buy a new rear for your Vette. Same with her brother.
But above all, have fun and be safe.
thanks for the advice. All went well she only made three runs the first was the best. 13.808 @107.
The others not as good. Will post some pitchers
when I learn how to do it. Again thanks for the help!
