Hi everybody. Need your help. Live in El Paso, Texas where it has been very hot in the last 6 weeks. Noticed 1 3mm bright streak forming on the middle of the dash over the radia/HVAC stack. It has gotten worse and now there are 4 streaks!! Took to the dealer here and they say it is my fault!!!!! I only use armor all rarely, mostly damp microfiber to clean off. There are no streaks anywhere else on the dasy. It looks like someone poured glue and let it dry. Simply trying to clean it off does not work. It is not sticky or gooey.
Do you have any ideas of what I can do? Has this happened to anyone else in a hot climate? There was nothing on my dash until it got hot.
I think it is definitely a defect in the dash, but dealer won't help. Who can I talk to this about at Bowling Green/GM.
Any ideas would be helpful. This was my dream car and now looks like a crappy interior due to the dash.
Bought car brand new 12/07. It is 2008 silver, 3LT, Z51, 2 tone interior with competition gray wheels.
sounds defective to me. should be covered under warranty. in the future, use 303 aerospace protectant. get it from autogeek.com. works really well on the interior. has a spf of 40.
I have a very small mark on mine that was not noticeable until after I cleaned the dash with a damp microfiber towel. Mine looks like a scar/rub mark from the assembly process. I doctor it with some dash cleaner/protector that I have left over from C5 days. My guess is that it was always there but hidden due to the treatment you had on it. You might try cleaning it well and treating only the scar. Mine takes some blending and then it is almost invisible. I wouldn't trust a dealer to replace my dash even if they were willing to do it. I know there are good techs out there but finding one is the challenge. BTW - I have always heard not to use Armorall on the dash. Other having more experience with it may chime in. Good luck!
