Default Is this normal engine sound
My engine (stock) has ticking sound like this:

Is this considered normal "sewing machine" sound of the LSx engine due to steep cam lobe and short skirt lifters? Does you C6 make this noise at idle?

Hmmm, I would put the FRC back on and see if that's why it sounds louder.

I agree, that would mask some of the valvetrain noise. But it doesn't sound bad. Also this is a new record for the most boring Youtube video I have ever watched

All LSx engines tick. Valvetrain, injectors, etc. My 07 LS2 ticked, and two 08 LS7's did as well.

Completely normal.

It seems that the poster was concerned about the ticking noise as well:

"Listen for the 'tick-tick' of the injectors or lifters."

FRC= Fuel rail cover....the plastic covers that cover all that crazy electrical stuff on the valve covers
All the cool engines are sporting them these days!...
