Hello all,
I purchased my used 2006 C6 MN6 a couples of month of ago and everything has been running well until lately. I am not too sure if it’s a mental thing but the acceleration under lower RPM’s has gotten quite rough. It used to be much smoother. Has anyone experienced this before? My Vette came with headers and Flowmasters.
Your going to have to describe the roughness a bit more for someone to be able to help you out. Is it an engine roughness, a driveline roughness, wheel shimmy etc etc?
I am going to assume its the engine running rough if thats the case start with the basics. How many miles does it have? Since you have headers might want to check that all your 02 sensor wires are intact and not burnt. Do you hear any ticking from the engine? If so might want to check and make sure there are no exhaust leaks.
Could possibly be a fouled up spark plug. They are easy to change and fairly inexpensive. Check for an air leak in front of the throttle body.
These are just some ideas and are all very easy to check out yourself.
Hope this helps.
My '06 MN6 sometimes accelerates roughly... as if I were on a wavy road. Not linear acceleration, more stepped and choppy through the rpm band. This was reduced when I got a tune with the addition of headers. Now I rarely notice it.

And P.S. I have an 05 6spd 17K miles no roughness
19k so far. You are correct, it is engine acceleration, sorry for being vague. I haven't thought about engine ticking but will pay more attention. I'm going to check plugs and O2 sensor wires and vacuum leaks as you suggested.
I only pump from Chevron or 76 stations, at worst - Mobile. Unfortunately, here in SoCal, our premium is only 91 octane.
This just happened to my dad's c6 06. It seemed like it was chugging, almost not firing in one piston. He brought it in, and it turned out that the spark plug wire had melted through, and wasn't firing.
