I see the wireless solutions are popular. Is anybody hardwiring in a switch? I personally don't want another FOB, and was thinking of putting a switch under the dash or on the foot rest.
Any drawback to this that I'm not realizing.....
No sure, but I think I saw a post on here where someone included a switch on their foot rest as one of their mods. Try searching keywords and see what pops up.
I drilled a hole in the plastic console piece just in front of the arm rest and installed a switch for my NPP exhaust. It doesn't look bad at all and it's pretty convenient to flip the switch on or off.

I believe that I read somewhere on the Forum that one of the vendors supplying the wireless NPP on/off solutions had the capability to program one of the visor switches eliminating the FOB. I don't remember who but either a search or someone else can give that answer.
Easy enough to hardwire a switch... but why? The wireless setup is a very easy clean install.. no cutting , drilling or stringing wires.
I velcroed the remote switch to the On-star box.. blends in and is easy to reach..

Piece of cake install into the plastic dead pedal foot rest that is just to the far left of the clutch and brake pedals, no fob needed, it's always there when you want it. No drawbacks seen, just the normal precautions when hardwiring anything, like not pinching a wire when installing, etc.

As an alternative to hunting down parts and hardwiring is an inexpensive, high quality remoter controller from one our Forum Sponsors, Ben at SunsetOrangeCreations, for only $50 bucks! No fuss, no muss, no hunting down parts, 5 minute install, great product, great customer service! Some have velcro'ed the remote out of the way on either side of the sunvisor, very inconspicious there.

I like the idea of the dead pedal location and I found the parts (Graingers & Parts Express) for under $20... so that's probably the route I will take.
Seems like a simple enough install and I'm old school hardwire when you can, with less things that can go wrong in the future and batteries to deal with.
Since I bi-atched out and am going for the auto tranie I need something to stomp with my left foot anyway....
Yeah whats wrong with having another fob? Its not like you have to put it on your key chain!!! Me and my buddy just leave our NPP fobs in the center console. Not sure what the problem is and plus that way you can walk around to the back of the car and demonstrate it for people! We both have many many times! Keep the fob
Nothing wrong with another FOB, but I have no use for it
If any of my boys want to check it out.... they can stand behind the car.... I'd rather be in it to stomp the accelerator
Hardwire is a great option and has been around for 3 yrs (see the DIY pic at the bottom). It's simple to do and I also sell a hard wired dead pedal either in a DIY or complete with the dead pedal.
Here you go should do it and Pipedreams is a great Vendor.

I got mine from PipeDreams and put the fob between the radio stack and the buttons on the right of the dash. Passengers get a kick out of seeing it work and listening to the changes in exhaust sound.
On the other hand, except for showing it off, I seldom close the exhaust anyway.
i hard wired a switch in the glove box with doublesided sticky tape, when i want to be heard, i just open the box an inch or two and it's mounted right on the edge closest to the driver.
