Default Need Carpet Help/Advice Picture Added

####Picture Added####

When I had some stereo work done the cashmere carpet piece that makes up the waterfall on a coupe got a crease along the top edge. The crease runs front to back. I have tried to iron it out but it will not go away. Any thoughts on how to remove the crease short of replacement?

Can you post a picture of it so that others can tell where it is and we can help a little more?

A steamer may help - the kind with a hose that allows you to concentrate the steam to a given point.

I will post a picture later today. But it is on the hump behind the drivers seat just behind the driver's right shoulder.

If the carpet backing is just bent, heat from a hair dryer or heat gun (be careful) might straighten it out. Didn’t iron out, If the backing is actually cracked, don’t think you will get the crease out

This is your best advice. The creases you see in the top of the carpet naps are usually always the result of creases or folds in the carpet backing of the "molded carpet" pans.

The very vast majority of these creases or folds can always be removed by using a heat gun to soften the carpet backing which in turn will remove the surface creases/folds and allow the carpet to lay flat or conform to any surface irregularities.

A hair blow dryer won't usually create enough heat to soften the carpet backing and a heat gun is usually necessary, but be very careful not to ignite the carpet backing.

If however the carpet backing is cracked where the surface crease is; you're pretty much out of luck.

A heat gun is got to be cheaper than replacing that piece of carpet. Even if I can find just the piece I need. And I need a new heat gun anyways. Hardware store here I come. I'll check the backing again, I can't remember if it is cracked or just creased. Thanks for the advice...
