Default 3 beeps (error code?)

Every once in a while for no reason I get 3 beeps from the horn after getting in and before I start the car.

I only have 1 fob with me and the other is not in the car.

I don’t consider it a real problem but just curious if this is happing to others and if there is an answer?

Ben,

Three beeps indicates that the car thinks a fob has been left in the cabin. This can happen if you have entered the car, shut the door, then exited the car without closing the door and re-entered the car and shut the door. On the closing of the door the car senses the presence of the fob and is alerting you that may have left a fob inside. This is most common at gas stations where people get out to pump gas but don't close the door. When you return to the car and shut the door it alerts you.

I found this interesting - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...9&postcount=12 The original software can detect a FOB when you are outside the car and not detect it when inside. It detects it as you get in, loses it as you are closing the door and then detects it again and you just "left the car with the FOB inside". You might want to look into getting the new software.

That’s exactly what happed when it did it last.

My wife forgot her sun glasses and I got out of the car without closing the door and went inside with the fob in my pocket. After I returned I closed the door and got the 3 beeps.

Thanks, makes complete since to me!!

there is also a recall on early run fob modules that would cause this situation.

There is also RF interference. Mine will sometimes chime even with normal exit /entrance procedures is there is an active "electric eye" door nearby.
