My free trial is about to end with XM. I already have an account with them for our 2 other vehicles. After reading all of this, when I call to to add the vette to my current account, do I need to tell them to cancel my credit card payment and send me an invoice in order to get the $77.00 deal? My other 2 vehicles don't renew until August.
Once they have your credit card number they'll just do an auto-billing at the full-bore rate. Once they have your number I don't know how you go back to a paper billing (I've always had them mail me an invoice).

If your credit card company provides temporary credit card numbers for on-line purchases, use that for payment. The next time they try to bill with that number it doesn't work.

Be sure to call India just before your term runs out and tell them "cancel." They'll do it. Then call back and "re-up" for $77. (Or $59 if you really want a deal!) Be sure to utilize a paper invoice and use a money order...

The 'temporary' or 'one-time' numbers are a great tool to keep you in control of how your card is used. I use them for everything possible and 100% of online orders.
My free trial runs out the 18th, I called them up and said I'm happy to sign up but I will only pay 77 dollars. I got the run around for a few minutes and then she said something about connecting me to someone else.
I knew there was a promotional code that started wtih a Z, but didn't know the whole thing. I told the lady that i will only sign/renew if they do 77 dollars. She finally agreed and then I got some long speech about how this was a very rare super awesome mega exception they were doing JUST for me *rolls eyes*, and how I will never be able to get it again for 77 dollars. When they asked for my CC number I told them to send me a paper bill which they balked at of course.
In the end -- I guess im satisfied. I got a little run around but nothing too crazy. I would have been happy to cancel/not renew if they wanted 125 dollars.
I don't use XM that much but 77/year isnt bad for all the comedy stuff thats on there.
What is the deal about asking for a paper bill instead of using a CC ???
