Once again I turn to my friends here in the Corvette community for counsel & advice I'm probably in the minority on this subject-but here it goes. I Hate the factory seats in my vette! IMO they are NOT comfortable. I find myself constantly squirming around while driving. I hate them so much I'm thinking of selling my 07 until somebody suggested I look at aftermarket seats to replace them. I found the above listed reclining buckets-Model LG1. Corbeau says their customers love them- rated #1 in comfort & they do look cool & do fit in the C6. So is there anybody out there with aftermarket seats? -If so please provide a product review-good/bad/or indifferent I.E. Comfort, fit etc. AND PICS Thanks
I used Corbeau A4 leather seats in my 01 Z06 and then placed them in my 86 Corvette. Comfort wise, they are really great, even on long rides. I used them mainly so I could run 5 point harnesses through them on my Z06. When I got rid of the Z06 and picked up the C4, I still had them laying around, so I put them in the C4, since the seats were shot in it. Downside is you would lose the power features of the C6 seats.
In my 86:
In my 01 Z06: Hope this helps you out.
Make sure you measure careully....On a C6 there is limited width to work with ...31" as I recall. I have a beautiful set of Sparco Milano's from my previous car but unfortunately they are 32" inches wide......Doh!
I have A4s in my 71 vert. They are good seats and well made. But they are pretty narrow in the shoulders. I have broad shoulders and this makes them a bit uncomfortable. I would STRONGLY advise that you find a seat and sit in it first before buying...
Had these swapped into my '08, were from a Viper. Very comfortable!
wow! I like those and I love the Viper seats- any issues installing being they are out of a Dodge IE. Mounting brackets, hole location for bolting and Price ??

yeah your right -the guy at Corbeau said they will fit in the C6 -The only hitch is the reclining mechinism has to be installed on the console side because of the seat belt anchor location

That sounds like a bit of a problem. The Corbeau reclining mechanism is pretty far down. It might be hard to get to it if it's jammed in next to the console.
Why can't you get the seats reupholstered by a custom shop with good leather and have them beef up the bolsters, etc? Has anyone done this?
You could, but it would be quite expensive. The side airbags are an issue, so there isn't a lot you can do on the side bolsters. You can beef up the seat itself, but, again, the cost is quite high. A few thousand dollars, minimum.
Very nice buddy! Where did you get an idea like that???
I saw a post by another Forum member that did it and I wanted a set. I had mine swapped out at QMS in Lewisville, TX. Bought the seats from a forum vendor of used parts and shipped them there for the install.
The ride home was so much more comfortable than the ride out there.
Some people won't like them, but you only have to satisfy yourself. Thanks for the idea CJZ06
