I don't know if this has been asked before, but, does anybody know how to reduce the wind buffeting when the top is removed, on a coupe? It doesn't happen at low speed 20-30 mph, but, at 55mph and above it's annoying. I like to wear a hat because of my "semi bald cranium" and it's always trying to blow off my head. Short of adding a chin strap to the hat ( NOT LIKELY ), what are any other alternatives?
This issue has been discussed before you may want to do a search but if memory serves me correct I do not believe there were any practical solutions. I really do not find it too bad, probably easier to adjust your hat.
I have a rear partition from www.exoticvette.com and that does help. I have worn a hat with the top off several times and it has not tried to blow off. I assume you are driving with both windows all the way down, which does help.
I would have to agree with the poster who recommended that you buy a convertible. My first Corvette was a '96 CE coupe and I fought the wind turbulence the whole time I drove it.
On my '96 I did buy a "WINDJAMMER" from Ecklers or Mid America.
Just click on their websites and do a search for windjammer and it will bring them up for C4s and C5s. I could not locate one for C6s but that does not mean they do not exist.
If you can't find one commercially available you could probably make yourself one for a few dollars if you have some technical skills and tools. A windjammer is simply a strip of plexiglass about 4 or 5 inches wide and the length of the top of your windshield. The ones for the C4s and C5s attach to the fasteners which hold the top in place.
I don't know how the C6 targa top fastens as I only have C5 and C6 verts. As I stated at the beginning of this post, I was cured of buying coupes about a week after I bought my '96 coupe.
I have a set of flag Caddies for my C5 and when I got my C6 I tried them on the C6 and realized they would not fit. I did check and found out that there are Flag Caddies available for the C6. If you have to end up making your own windjammer, I would suggest that you order a set of Flag Caddies (about $25-30) so you could see how they fasten to the C6 and you could either buy or replicate the same type fastener. If nothing else, you would have a great set of parade flags for your Vette.
The Windjammer I bought for my C4 does do a fairly good job of reducing the wind buffeting you mentioned.
I have a Vette Net on my C6 and it works pretty good for a convertible.
Good luck in finding the sloution that is best for you.
I do have my 2002 Millineum Yellow vert with a six speed and less than 27k miles on it for sale in the C5s for sale section of this forum if you want to really solve your problem. I'm only asking $28,500.
Looking at your picture, I'm assuming that is the "ebony" partition. Is the color similar to the stock dark grey carpeting in the hatch area? Looks like it is. I've got a cashmere interior, but would prefer everything in the back to be dark in color, especially since the ExoticVette ad says that the color of the cashmere isn't quite a match. I haven't gotten the Lloyd's rear mat yet, but woud get it in black (ebony) if I did. thanks

You are not riding around with top off, but windows up are you? Thats the only time I get buffeting in my 08 coupe.

Another for the ExoticVettes Partition. And Vinnie...the dark grey/charcoal finished partition matches the rear carpet color so PERFECTLY that it looks factory stock.

Yes, that is the ebony partition from Exotic Vette. Match is very good as you can see. The rear cargo mat is the ebony one from Lloyd's.
I saw a gizzmo somewhere that keep the trunk lid open a bit to let the air through. I thought this would be a good idea but something classier looking would be a better idea. Spoiler vent all in one? Where are the inventors-this is a big issue in my eyes,I mean head.

nothing against the partition, i have one and love it, but i didn't notice much, if any, difference in wind turbulance after installing it. it does look good and keeps stuff from flying into the cab though.
