Default C6

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and want to learn as much as I can about the C6 and C6 Z06. I plan on getting one in the future and want to know it's weaknesss. Anything mechanical is prone to problems so I would appreciate any feedback. I've already read about the rocker arm needle bearing problems with certain 2007 Z06's and the early C6's had paint delamination problems with the roof. Is there anything else the C6's are prone to?

Thanks,

pain man

I've broken a rear axle twice (one on each side) in my 2005...I don't read a lot about this problem, but I drive mine VERY conservativly, and am at a loss to explain this problem...

If you have some time before you are going to buy yours, just keep hanging out here and you'll learn more than you even WANT to know. I don't think that the C6's, other than the problems you already mention are particularly prone to any endemic problems.
For what they are (and for how they are typically driven) they are remarkably trouble free.

Welcome. Just remember that there are thousands of people posting in this section alone so when 20 people complain about something and 5 come back and say it wasn't a problem for them, that means it isn't a very big deal. Even when hundreds report their real axle nuts are loose or they have mismatched part numbers on their heads, it still might not be a real problem if the result is harmless.

There have been very few real problems with the C6 as evidenced by the number of recalls. Personally I've had no serious problem in the first 14K miles. But my axle nuts WERE loose.

Hi.

I've got my first C6 (2008 A6 F55 NPP Black/Black) on June 16 and I absolutely love it. It is early to make this statement - but it is trouble free.

Actually, what I don't like about it is that I am not out driving it this instant. Each mile of the 660 miles on it, has been better than the last.

You will smile with each mile.

M... .

Welcome aboard.

I don't have anything negative to say about my 2008. I've really enjoyed driving it so far.

If you're going to get a vette then plan on fixing something here and there. But as far as bang for the buck it's in a class by itself.

Like in all vehicles there are lemons and the C6 and ZO6 have had some problems which pretty much what you mentioned. If you are buying used then you need to see if the roof delamination was fixed covered by GM, 05's had a problem with the rear ends.

So you do take your chances, I guess I am lucky as I have not had any problems with my 06.
