I just finished installing the MGW Shifter in my 05 C6. Along with the install I did the Redline Shifter and E-Brake Boots. I finished it off with the Carbon Fiber finish Console and MGW Shift ****. This is without a Doubt the best shifter in both looks and performance. Absolutely no noise or rattles Period. Easy to install and tight as a Bank Vault. As a Design Engineer, this unit deserves Good Press.
ive installed a few MGWs in mustangs/cobras and have always been very impressed.
we're gonna go with an MGW in our 09 C6. hopefully we'll have an opportunity to snap some pics and do a nice write-up on the install.
A question about the short shifter; would installing one woid the warranty on a new car?
Thanks...
i would imagine installing an MGW would void the warranty on the factory shifter that was removed, just like the stock muffler warranty is voided when you replace them with an aftermarket product.
I also installed this particular shifter (and shift ****) and I am loving it more every day. I tried a few others in friends' Vettes, but found some play with them.
I believe after owning other Corvettes since 1967 the Dealer may take issue with an aftermarket Shifter if you had Transmission problems. I have never had a Dealer make comments about the Warranty on any of my Mods. I would not blame them if you had a Warranty Claim and the car had Extreme Engine Mods such as Cam or turbo work done. Owners having this type of car are not considering the Warranty. My car is basically Stock with a couple of Tweaks. As for Pictures, since I am a Junior Menber I cannot post them directly on the Thread. They must be posted on a third party site.

While this is my first Vette, and I've had it all of two weeks, I've also been reading this forum for the same two weeks, and have seen enough postings about factory-related problems with the car that I do "consider the warranty". Sure, if I had a fat bank account, I probably would not worry about voiding the warranty either. But I don't, so there it is...
I agree the Warranty is the biggest concerne on this type of new vehicle. You can check with the Dealer before any enhancements are done. I keep mine within the limits of conservative types. Enjoy the car, it is the best Vette yet.
