You need to slide the e-brake boot down out of the way to reveal the torx screw that holds the e-brake handle on. It is located at the base of the handle. Take out the screw and from the drivers seat grasp the e-brake handle with your right hand. Now you need to pull straight out towards the dash. The button is held on a detent and trapped by the handle. The action of pulling the handle off will remove the button. Once the handle and the button are off you can simply press the button down and out of the bottom of the handle. Make the swap, reverse the process and you are all set.
1) lower the boot to gain access to the screw at bottom of e-brake handle.
2) remove screw
3) firm grip on handle and pull with considerable force. Note: when you think you are pulling too hard and thinking that you will break something...pull harder. Not for the faint of heart....
4) now you can remove and replace the button
5) reverse steps
