I have tried out several of the exhaust options and now have in my possession 2 new z06 mufflers. The question is, since these are similar to the NPP will they fit right in place of my current stock exhaust. They are basically cat back style with the set up for over the axle, just plug and play. I know i would need the vaccuum tubing, but will they fit is the question.
Yes they will fit without a problem, you can use the remote switch for sale here on the forum also with no problem, any good exhaust shop can hook you up without any problem.
They'll work, but you'll need to make a decision which way you want to make them work.
The problem is that the Z06 has a 3" pipe and the ls2/ls3 has a 2.5" pipe. The choice is to either cut the front of the Z06 pipe shorter to weld on an adapter from 2.5" to 3" or to cut your present pipe and the Z06 pipe off just before the muffler and weld your pipe to the Z06 muffler.
The Z06 and std. muffler inlets are both 2.5", so the second way is usually the preferred method.
Both Pipedreams and Sunset Orange Creations have units to retrofit non-NPP cars. I used Pipedreams and it worked well for me.
Do a search for more info, as this has been done quite often.
Bryan,
I am in Anaheim if you would like to see/hear a set installed on my car. I used the stock 2.5 inch pipes from the stock exhaust and welded them to the inlet of the Z06 mufflers. My car is the six speed auto trans.

absolutely, I would really like that. I have gone round and round finding the right exhaust. I loved my cutouts, but the drone from the magnaflows killed me. I will PM you, thanks.
