This morning I hopped into Red, stepped on the brake pedal, tapped the starter button, and [clickety clickety clickety clickety clickety ... ...]. No engine start at all. The sound seemed to come from behind the dashboard, not from the engine compartment. I couldn't turn it off by pressing the bottom of the starter button. All I could do was exit the car, walk away far enough for security to lock it down, then return. Repeated the process and Vrooom.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? What causes it?
Do you have your fob in the same pocket as your cell phone?
I've gotten the constant clicking quite a few times - I've never had it not recognize the "off" portion of the button though. Usually once it does that I hit the off, and then can either start it up, or sometimes I have to take my fob out of my pocket.
