Default My Steering

I deployed to Afghanistan a few days after buying an 08' Z51. My steering wheel wouldn't lock. Is that normal for the 08's?

Yep, it is normal. The column lock mechanism has been gone on the Corvette since the end of the 2005.

Right. The 05s were the last one with the column lock. Deleted after that model year.

Actually, only the '05 automatics do not lock. The '05 manual transmission cars do. At least the early build does anyway.

Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it. I traded my 05' in for the 08'. I hated the fact the battery would always die if I didn't lock the steering wheel.
I look forward to enjoying it after this deployment.
