I read a lot of dumb things on here, but that's not one of them. Matter of fact, that one ranks right up there in the top group for me on what makes a Corvette owner tick. I applaud both your son, and you.
You gotta pretty special kid there...no negative pun intended! Sometimes we all wish we could keep our kids five years old! Enjoy the times you have together.

Wonderful story. My nickname since birth is "Bear", so I can get real attached to stories involving Bears. I am going to select from one of the many Bears in my collection, likely one given to me by one of my kids, and find a special place in my vette for him/her. I may rotate Bears depending on the mood...In you and your son's honor.
I know him and his son, Jesse is a really cool and affectionate kid. Every time I see Jesse he always runs over to me and gives me a hug and calls me "big guy" which I think is very cool.
I haven't seen the new bear in person yet, but the old bear was dressed in Camo and was pretty cool looking also.
My son insists that I have a teddy bear with me at all time to keep me safe.
I've been doing this tradition for the past ten years, since he was five. Because he's retarded, he's not going to grow out of it, so I get a new bear from time to time. The old bear has returned to his spot in the center rear seat of the Biscayne.
The new bear is now seated in the center front seat of the Vette!
Jesse made it for me at the local Build A Bear Workshop.
I made the tan (dare I say cashmere?) seat belt for the bear and attached through slots I cut into the clutter catcher.
I don't get much father-son stuff with him because he's going to be five forever, so this means a lot to me that he takes the time to pick out a special teddy bear for me.
My son has Autism. His favorite thing in the world is crusin' with daddy in the Vette.
