Default Body Side Molding

I've got a general question. Why does every C5 I have seen have the body side molding, but, I have yet to see a C6 with the molding. Does it look that bad on a C6?

I wasn't a big fan of it on the C5, although you're right . .most seemed to have it.

And, IMO it doesn'tcompliment the body line too well on the C6 either . . . (photo from an earlier CF post . . . )

Yes, and because of the deep indentaion of the doors, it wouldn't help much unless it were huge and even more ugly looking.

Wasn't it standard on the C5 for some model years? Body side moldings where very "in" from 1998-2002, many cars have them.

Kind of like 4-square headlamps in the 80's.

Loved them and had the BSM on my two C5s but not sure I like it on the C6. But, the only photo floating around the net is the one of that red vert. I think it is the lone C6 with that mod.

I took mine off on my C5. I could never understand why anyone would want to destroy the beautiful lines of the car with that strip.

I think the reason you see so many more C5's with BSM is that it was factory installed option. BSM for the C6 is only available aftermarket.

I would not have had a C5 without the BSM, but I do not like them at all on the C6.

It was optional on the C5. I think it was a $150-200 option.

Right, it was never standard pn the C5. And a bit of trivia. If requested it was the very last thing put on the car. The install station was just before the car went on the dyno.

it looks really nice if you want your car to look like it was around in the '80's
