Also, no arrows, no pain, no matter, no tickets, as I have said before been there done that, have moved on to what I and lot's of others would say, a superior all around detector. You have yourself a real nice day ok!
hey Racer44, thanks for your support! I am not the guy trying to start the war, but it happened anyway.

As for that Brentvino169 guy. Don't let him get to you. If you check his profile, it is not complete. Every single post he has ever made on this forum has been to defend the V1 and tell us all what losers we all are for buying something else. I have received several PM's from guys letting me know that he has been reported to the Mod's several times. Appears he works for V1 or something. Whatever it is, it's not right.

Take care my friend!

I do not work for Valentine Research or any other detector maker. I just enjoy having the best radar/laser detector and the Valentine One fits the bill. To prove that I don't work for them, I will make a statement that nobody that works for Valentine Research would make.

If you live in Virginia or Washington D.C. where radar detectors are illegal, buy the BELTRONICS STi because it is completely undetectable by the Spectre RDD radar detector detector and the Valentine One is not.

Hey, no problem. It is just a shame that these guys post all this technical crap (innacurate) and quote web sites (which are known to be pro V1, anti everything else, especially against the detector that is stealing business away from V1) and people think that these bozos know what they are talking about. (Carnut excluded).
Whatever...... as "Carnut" himself said, if you don't know the features and limitations of your detector it is your own fault.
People who choose the V1, I am sure will be very happy with it.......
Those of us which actually have owned a V1 and switched to the 9500i, know there is actually an "all around" superior detector out there. The V1 on the Corvette Forum is the same as Zaino on the forum, been there done that ...switched to another cheaper, more accessible product, am now saving money and getting slightly superior results and saving tons of product. I do not have Corvettforum "tunnel vision" (thank goodness)

WOW, your right every single post that he has posted is in all the radar detector threads and it is always putting down the others and hyping the V1...

So you are saying to ignore the "technical crap" and just go by what you say? So what is it about this superior detector that trumps the arrows, bogie counter, and upgradeablility ?

Ignore the bogus technical crap from known biased people...yes.

Upgadeability? are you sure you want to ask about that one??
V1:
Remove from vehicle, pack it up, send it away, wait for it to come back, wait, wait, wait, pay $200 plus shipping, ins etc. If it comes back not lost or damaged put back in car. Time with out protection for vehicle...2-8 weeks Hope that the time you were without it, you didn't get speeding ticket.

9500i:
Remove from vehicle, take to a computer that has internet access, go to Escort website, plug in USB cord, download update, unplug, reinstall into car. Time without protection for vehicle... 10 minutes?

$200 might be worst case if you had a very old detector and needed a hardware upgrade, normally it would be less than half that. And you forgot to mention that you get a fresh warranty with an upgrade. Don't complain about others giving BS info and then doing it yourself. But a web update is much better..1+ for the 9500.
Also you forgot to mention that the 9500 might be great for a bike because it is loud enough to be heard over loud wind noise.
You neatly skipped over the question about what this superior detector has that trumps the arrows and bogie counter?

What are you talking about??? I never skipped over those two things you mentioned. Go back and read this whole thread, why should I repeat everything five times for those who are to lazy to read before they post? Also, where is my BS? I never said any BS, show me?? Why should I mention about the V1 getting fresh warranty when I have never even heard of that before?? I never new I got a fresh warranty when I upgraded mine? Don't accuse me of laying down BS, that pisses me off.
Oh by the way, you should get a free one year warranty with it, you are pretty much paying for a brand new one with all the shipping, ins, and cost for update. So, is it really a free one year warranty??? Hardly not.

Isim's getting steamed, my bad ? And I read it and I may have missed it but I didn't see anything specific that trumped the arrows. This is not about anti falsing, it is about not getting a ticket. All I saw is you saying the 9500 is superior with no evidence.

What do you mean this is not about anti falsing, your dam right it is, that is the main reason I got rid of my V1, TONS OF FALSE ALARMS. Also, in all the years I had my V1, the arrows never helped me in any other way a normal so called "beep" detector would of warned me. So, for me the arrows were a gimmick that was cool at first......wait a minute, I am repeating myself to a guy who can't understand what he reads.

No, you said superior with absolutely no empirical evidence . So less info where the cops are is better?
And I will concede about the falsing, because it doesn't bother me that much. And I will take your word for it.

Try to take your new Escort 9500i from this year and get it upgraded for free to the new Escort 9500ix from this year...GOOD LUCK!

Just send in your Escort 9500i and they will upgrade for $129.95 to the new Escort 9500ix....what a scam. If you don't believe just call Escort and ask them.

I have sent in my V1 twice for 2 firmware upgrades and one hardware upgrade and it only cost me S/H and they sent me a receipt with no charge written on it.

Hmm a fly in the ointment. Seems that the V1 takes back it's advantage.

Default Yes. Valentine takes care of it's customers.

Last year I sent mine in and had it upgraded. It was returned in five days with no charge to me!

Let me see if I can distill this thread for the OP. The way I read it is like this:
  • The majority of posters to the thread prefer either the V1 or the 9500i.
  • Both are high end detectors that will do an excellent job.
  • Each has its own unique features.
  • One rewards a higher level of user involvement at perhaps a higher audio false level, but with additional information useful to determine whether a threat exists. That's the V1
  • One allows a lower level of user involvement with an innovative GPS feature that kills known false sources at the possible small risk of masking a real threat. That's the 9500i
  • If you prefer a higher level of involvement and you appreciate the extra data that might help avoid entrapment, the V1's your choice.
  • If you prefer a more peaceful journey and you really hate to hear possible false alerts, the 9500i's your choice.

The rest of the arguments/justifications are pretty much a waste of time IMHO. Whatever you decide, I hope it works well for you and that you enjoy driving your 'Vette. I know I sure do!

I use a Passport 9500i w/ GPS and lockout features. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but when I get in my truck which has a Beltronics 65X it annoys me that I can't lockout known false alarms.

This lockout feature saved my **** a couple times where the local cops will sit in a known false alarm area and wait for speeders to travel by and ignore their detectors. My 9500i went off and while it did lock out the known false alarm (coordinates lotaction with frequency) it still alerted on the speed trap.

Just my $0.02
