Default Navagation Question

I have an 06 C6 with Bose system and HUD and 6 Cd/radion. Question: Can I purchase the "Stock" GM navagation unit and simply remove radio/6 cd and plug/play the GM navagation (The one that is sold for Vettes)?? Thanks

"Navigation" systems require a dealers help to unlock it from what I read.

I have a Navi unit and it sucks. Better to get a super nice aftermarket unit and keep your existing stereo.

One thing I dont like about it is the glare from the sun with the top down - you can't read it.

I see you have HUD - In Street Mode it will interface with the HUD it is my understanding.

I love the Nav and the way it integrates into the HUD. There are other aftermarket Navs out there that do more things, but it just doesn't match the integration of the factory units. Especially when you can buy some aftermarket pieces to get back any lost features. It gets me where I want to go.

Each to his own, but I won't buy a car without one now. They just keep getting better. You should see the one in the new Caddy....

I agree with the glare issue, but the HUD integration is cool and SAFE!

Yes, as long as you have the Bose system it is plug and play. It will work with steering wheel control, HUD and there is even an unused plug in the driver side A-pillar for the Mic. I know because I did what your thinking about doing. You will need to have a service tech come out and "clear the vin" on the unit so it "mates" to your car but it takes less than 5 minutes. By the way I am turning my lease in soon and removing installed parts. I just happen to have a complete stock navigation unit for sale in the parts section

Let me know if you have any questions.

Had the Nav for about 8 months. The learning curve is a little steep, but like was said above, it gets you where you want to go, and the integration with the HUD is excellant.

I just bought a new 08 Caddy EXT and the Nav is very, very nice. Has a built in 6 disk DVD and the presentation is very good. BUT the #$%@#$ thing still doesn't have bluetooth.

Good looking, even if it doesn't have bluetooth! The CTS has bluetooth The feature was added to the 2008's built after April so said the sales guy (This sales guy is quite knowledgable and is a real car person).

In the morning when the sun shines in the back of my coupe I can't see jack either. Bad design!

The only down side is GM's price of 380.00 for an updated DVD.

Wow!! Is that what I can expect.
Nonetheless, I would go up to a Caddie Navie or some really nice after market unit as previously suggested.
