In searching through the topic I seemed to come across a few myths that is keeping me from doing this mod. At first I was not crazy about the way it looks but truthfully it is growing on me. Maybe later down the road i will also do the front conversion and complete the whole looks.
For now I was thinking about just doing the rears. A few people have told me not to do that because it would greatly hurt the handling capability of the car by having the wide rears and skinny c6 front. Is that true and for all you guys that did the rears only mod do you have any regrets? Thanks
ps In a few weeks the car is getting an ECS supercharger so i wanted to fit the bigger tires on the back!!
Have you found a good body shop that will guarantee a paint match by painting just the rear quarters and not blending the other panels? I also have an 08 JSB and was considering doing the rear only., with maybe a customhood, but after checking with 2 body shops I kind of put it on the back burner since they wouldn't guarantee apaint match without blending.

I didn't really start checking into that yet. I did make a thread awhile ago about good body shops in my area and the ones that the forum members suggested I wrote down and figured I would call as time got closer.
Please contact me for any widebody conversion parts. I am the widebody parts king!
Gene will "hook you up" I got all my parts from Gene, I did do the full conversion. I think the front fenders and front facia blends in well with the big rear. If you decide just to do the rears, make sure you get a good paint match. Mine was a complete paint job so i can't say how hard it is to match.
I started with just the rears but after i seen my rear tires filling the wells I had to finish off the car with the fronts. I put spacers on for now until my new rims are coming in.I had to anyway to fit the new calipers i got. its adddictive, once you start you cant stop. I have it bad if there is a rehab for updating a corvette let me know. i need to go soon!!! this website doesnt help either. its like a drunk in a liquor store (no offence to any drunks out there) good luck with the build
Your handling was not affected in a negative way? I'd be interested to know if you daily drive your car and the type of roads on which you drive. I could think of a few roads back home where the wider rear track would make the car pull like crazy to one side or another with the wear depressions in the road, or so I would speculate having never driven a rear widebody only car. It's bad enough with the stock tires and track width.

Yes he is. Besides a great price and excellent service. Gene's kit has all those small parts that you don't even know you need (clips, liners, ducting, etc. etc. etc.) Culley's kit is ready to paint and play right out of the box. www.gmpartshouse.com
I didn't feel any difference in handling when I did my rear widebody either. I loved the way it looked though. Your biggest battle is with finding a body shop that will spend the proper amount of time getting the color to match. Beware and do a search and you will find many a threads on widebody and the challenge in matching paint.
