Installed a set of Bilstein Sports the other day. Instead of doing the strap down and compress method for the front shocks, I justs unscrewed the 4 bolts of the A-Arm and lowered it to remove the shock. I thought that was pretty simple.
My question is when I did that there were washers behinds those 4 bolts that were distributed differently on the passenger and drivers side. On the driver's side each bolt had one washer per bolt. But on the passenger side there was two washers per bolt for two bolts, 1 washer on the third and none on the last bolt.
Did anyone else notice the above? What would be the reasoning to do this? One washer per bolt seemed sufficient but I put them back in the way I found them.
Those washers set your alignment camber and caster specs.
I thought it had to do with that but should there be such a difference per side? I am guessing its no big deal as the alignment was fine prior to the install but I was a bit curious.
If you are sure you put them back as they were, then you are fine, but the number of washers is how the alignment is made. The left and right sides of a car are rarely exactly the same for the alignment...so different washer count is normal.

So far they seem less harsh over bumps and more control in corners but I haven't put that many miles on them yet. Certainly an improvement over stock.
