Default Paint Code Question

I am confused regarding the paint code for Daytona Sunset Orange. There appears to be two variations of the color. One is bright copper looking and the other a darker rust looking paint.

The bright color is Code 71U, (at least I think so). What is the code for the darker color?

Thanks

I'm still confused

Both of these Corvettes claim to be "Daytona Sunset Orange" They look different to me.

IMO The first one is more like the real color.
The second picture is just a poor quality photo.

I might be missing something but the second picture is a drawing, right? The photo and drawing are different one is AO and the other is on the brown side of color

I guess I'm the only one who saw it, but before Corvettes came in Atomic Orange, there was a color which looked bright copper. I inquired and was told it was Daytona Sunset Orange. I had my gas saver painted what I thought would be the bright copper color.

I was surprised when I picked up the car and it was the darker rust color. The color on the second link is the one I'm looking for...When I find it, I'm gonna have the Honda repainted...

Welcome to the world of digital imaging. Camera sensor, light at the subject, rendition to the web, monitor calibration and a host of other variables will affect the representation of a color image. Seldom will you get exact color matches unless everything is calibrated and shot with the same gear and set-up.

2005 and 2006 C6s were available in Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, paint code 71U. Beginning in 2007, DSOM was dropped and replaced by Atomic Orange Metallic Tintcoat, paint code 83U. Atomic Orange is still available for 2009 C6s.

There is only one Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic paint on Corvettes. It was produced for 2005 and 2006. The color as Jim noted was replaced in 2007 with Atomic Orange. They are not the same color, nor do they have the same name. DSOM is the darker color of the two.

The color that we know as DSOM or Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic is WA633H / 71U Sunset Orange Metallic.

The other, brighter color is Atomic Orange that came out in 2007. Which is WA418P / 83U Atomic Orange Metallic

I am getting ready to paint '69 Coupe in this color and there is as a matter of fact a variant to the color that is available. It too is called Sunset Orange on the swatches, but none-the-less there is a second variant at paint shops -- both called Sunset Orange.
