Default Problem with Valentine One...Knowledge Needed

I tried to order a V1 from them, and was told the only shipping option was thru FedEx...

FedEx doesn't have a recieving station close to me and I don't use them because they have screwed up orders with me before, and have listened to others that have had so many issuses with them, that I won't do it...

What's my options? Go to Escourt? Ebay...

Mike Valentine, ya' listening??????

Have them deliver it to your home or office. You will love the V1.

Long story...I work in the Construction Industry, presently moving from job to job. Neighbors all work thru the day, as well as a brother and his wife.

The ONLY option for me is the USPS.

Steve,

Have them ship it to me. I'll ship it to you for free. Yes, I prefer the operation of the Valentine that much. You won't regret it if you can work out the shipping arrangements.

I would hesitate to go the ebay route. You won't likely get the latest update V1 and then you would have to ship it to Valentine to get it upgraded, when they ship it back it will be with Fedex and the cycle starts all over again.

Paul, how would we do this. Wouldn't it still be the same run around with updates and so on?

Two trips scheduled in Sept.. Paducah to see Jim and Darla at "Corvettes on the River" on the 13th, and the Funfest on the third weekend. Trying to get it a little early...

As far as the original purchase I'll send you my address and just have them send it to me for the ship to. I've never sent in my V1 for updates. I never felt it necessary. I'm just worried about you paying near full price for an older unit and feeling like you needed to have it brought up to date. At least this way you have the choice. You don't "have" to have it updated.

Are you coming to the museum for Labor day? Becky and I will be there with our car this time. I could deliver it to you then.

Hospital that I am working on, will probably have shut downs scheduled that weekend...trying to do two trips, four days each, in one month, outside of KC is really tough in our business.

I am still trying to rack my brain on this one...

Detailing the car tonight, appt. all night tommorrow, detail again Fri., because Sat. is our BIG show in KC Sat.. So will look every hour tonight to see the responses...last year, same show had over 200 Corvettes there...so I'm bustin' tail till Sat. morn...

Lots of options as I travel all the time myself. FedEx and UPS will drop things off when you are out of town.

If you are staying out of town at a hotel, have it shipped to the hotel. Have it shipped to a local business establishment, like a bar or restaurant (give the manager $10 bucks to hold it for you), have it shipped to a local Post Office and let them know you are from out of town and FedEx is sending a package there for you. I have used all these locations to have parts shipped to me when working out of town.

Just use your imagination!

Michael, thanks for posting...Valentine said "someone has to sign" for it...only person that I can even count on is a secretary in a job trailer that is stationary enough, through the day, and she works for the General Contractor.

My employer does not like it, with us sending private things to our dock. Nakid Ed's orders go to my post office, and I sign and pickup my parts there very well.

I'm a little disappointed with V1 on this situation...I have sent them an e-mail to that effect. The woman I spoke with was a little short with me as well...

I just bought one from them and I had to send them an email stating that they could leave it without me signing for it. There is a way.

Also put your signature on file with FedEx, then they will leave it. Unless V1 is like Apple (who puts a giant orange sticker on it saying an actual person must sign it) FedEx will toss it on your porch with no fuss.

+1 on do whatever you need to do. Just got back from a huge road trip in my truck and while I wasn't blazing I was def. speeding and the V1 put in for the save a couple of times.

KC, you're getting a lot of very creative ideas here. Let me repeat one: go to the manager of a Courtyard or Marriott. Speak with him/her and tell them your issue. I feel they might understand and do a favor for you.

Second idea: contact your local Corvette club prez. Ask him/her for ideas as to who might be a trustworthy person to have a Valentine delivered to via Fed Ex.

As to updates, I've had them done, not once but many times. There is no issue with ownership.

Good luck.

Bill, Thank You. We have a club member whose wife stays home for work...that might be my best solution...

Valentine should have another option...

Actually, you can call V1 and talk to the guy. He's really a good guy and can probably accomodate your shipping alternative.
