How many corvette owners still use a steering wheel anti-theft device like the Club? I pulled it out of my garage, wiped off the dust, found the key, and started using it again when I got my 08 C6 coupe. Not sure if it is that effective anymore, but it gives me a bit more security knowing it is one more layer of protection a person has to get through to drive the car away.
I use it on my beater car since it sits in the driveway. My way of thinking is that anyone looking for a quick joy ride will find an easier target. The Vette never gets parked outside so need use the club in it.
No, I have one so old it's beginning to fade. But it is unique in that it has the rounded keys instead of the flat keys, and I still have the two keys that came with it. Maybe I should auction it...hahahha
i dont use one. it seems it would be a little more difficult to steal the newer vettes with the need of the key fob itself for the electronic start. they would need a little more than a screwdriver to get the steering column unlocked. I figure if they can get all the electronic stuff figured out, they have plans on taking it regardless if it has a club in place. extra protection never hurts, though. if need be, i'd assume i'd just turn to insurance if it gets stolen.
I thought they just cut through the steering wheel if a club was installed?
Yes, too bad the air bag doesn't go of when you cut through the wheel. That would be great, scumbag thief w/hacksaw cutting through your steering wheel when BOOM, the airbag goes off and he gets a face full of broken saw bits, and the club imbeds into his skull.
i'm gonna get the 'trunk monkey'. then when someone gets in to steal my car, he can just creep up from under the hatch shade and bonk them with the club. the 'club' should prove pretty effective then.
