both the reverse lights are out...checked the fuse looks OK...even went ahead and changed the fuse...no worky....I never knew that when you put in revrse(MN6)there should be a message on your DIC,Saw it on my friends car.I have the car for 2years now and have used up my waranty. Also the car is 1LT,if that message is feature on those models.
The bulbs are very easy to get to...and although very unlikely, its possible that they both died at the same time. Thats the first thing to check since it is easy. Then if its not that, it must be the switch that engages the lights when you put it in reverse.
Also, I don't get any message on the DIC when putting it in reverse...what does it say?

It MIGHT be the switch - but could also be the body control module (BCM). BCM failed on mine and the only "sign" was no reverse lights.
If you unlock the car when it is dark, the backup lights will also come on. This will tell you if the bulbs and wiring are good to them. You will still need to check the switch if they do come on.

Um... where's the friggen switch? My son pointed out that my backup lights didn't light when I was in reverse. I checked it in the garage and it worked, later, they failed again. Sounds like the switch needs adjustment or a replacement. Where am I digging for this thing? Tranny? Shifter/console?
Yes it's an old thread but at least I used search!
Damn I've had my 06' for about 8 weeks now and just noticed my Reverse lights are not lighting up on reverse. Fuse is OK as well as bulbs. Is the switch easy to get to once the car is lifted? on tranny side? top?
