Mine has been snug as a bug in a rug (in my garage) during this tropical storm. I just can't bring myself to drive it in this mucking stuff. The pickup is getting boring though, the more I drive it and not the C6.
And I don't believe the OP. I think he's making up this whole "safe in the rain" thing, and I just know if I drive it in this stuff, that it will in fact "MELT".

Congrats on disproving a myth.
For anyone who says, "My Vette has never seen a drop of rain" - remember, BG subjects EVERY new Vette to a monsoon-level rain test prior to shipping to check for leaks. EVERY Vette has been rained on, and one has yet to melt.
