I know that the c6's are notorious for parasitic battery drains. Mine was lasting about 3 days then dead. I brought it to dealer and he found that it was my "aftermarket stereo" that was the culprit. The stereo is an 'OEM' original entertainment media unit which is nice because they make replacements at a fraction of the cost and they look just like the stock units.
Has anyone else encountered this?
After questioning the stereo drain, I took it to an install place and the tech removed the stereo (which the dealer didn't) and the unit tested ok. After further testing the tech isolated the drain to the seat module so to answer your question...........this is the quote "same unit" but it was a false alarm. Hope this helps Mark.
Thanks
John

That's a pretty shady outfit to call their stuff "OEM" and make it look just like the original but with different guts. Only their "OEM" stands for something different than the rest of the industry uses that acronym for.

At first when I bought the vehicle the guy kept going on about how he had the "OEM" $1000 stereo, so you're right at first I thought original equip. manf. But in the co's defense, I hate the aftermarket look and prefer the Stock look. Most of the time I will just amp up and/or replace the speakers but leave the stock head unit in my other vehicles. to each his own. Call the dealer and see what their price is for the stock unit with all of those options and it will be much more than this unit new.
Had to do some Columbo work to find out you have an 05. Im doubting its your stereo upgrade thats causing the problem. I have a stereo upgrade as well. There are two JL amps in the back. A 450watt and a 300watt. They were installed over a year ago. The car is a 06 and still on the origional battery. The car is a weekend car and can sometimes sit for a couple of weeks without running or a charge. I also put a good draw on the battery because I likes my tunes LOUD! I think the dealer is trying to pin the usual 05 DBS on the stereo to pass the buck. I would not let them the blame where it probiblly doesnt belong.

Sorry about not posting it's an '05. I've always been bad about that because I'm usually so stressed about the problem at the time. I too love my tunes loud!!! I'm about to start adding amps and I have a post in the "wanted" forum for woofers for the trunk area. I saw where someone have mounted either a 6 or 8 in the holes of the trunk. It looked very nice and I should've jumped on the deal but wasn't in the market at the time. Thanks for your supportive post.

Might I suggest a JL Stealthbox. I have one in my car and the bass is killer! It mounts a 10" sub in a carpeted box that mounts in the left side cubby. It looks like it came from the factory and allows for storing the targa. Just add a 250w amp and youll have all the deep bass you crave. It hits hard but the sound quality is fantastic! JL is a top notch quality audio manufacturer. Check them out. www.JLaudio.com

To each his own. I thought that at first, but then again I like Stock looking stereo's. This a direct bolt in. Call the dealer and ask how much their top of line touchscreen with nav/blue and the rest of the nine yards, then compare. Check out their website oeradio.com. call the number and ask for Barry. Super nice guy with alot of intell. not snobby as some can be.
IMHO
