Air Conditioner Malfuction
The air conditioning control panel on my 2005 C6 has stopped working. I heard a clicking noise coming from behind the dash. It sounded like the motor/blower was attempting or struggling to engage. I immediately shut it down and was then unable to the get controls to work again. The air is still cold but comes into the passenger compartment only through the defrost and side vents.
I need a little insight into the problem before taking it to the local dealer. Unfortunately, my local dealer has a bad reputation for fraud. As an example; In 2007 they tried to charge me $1,600 for the Roof panel replacement despite the fact that is was a recall issue. I didn't pay it of course.
I'd like to have a little insight into the issue before taking my "out of warranty" C6 to a dealer for repair.
