If you have NAV does it display on the screen or only in the DIC. Wonder how you program it or does it just "download" numbers from the phone? Anybody got a 2009 that can tell how the thing works?
Bluetooth is supposedly part of the new Onstar 8.0. The Onstar module is underneath the right cubby hole in the trunk.
Obviously there are other parts necessary but I have been thinking that an Onstar upgrade is likely involved. I have been watching for an Onstar "upgrade" program but have not seen one offered.
I think that an Onstar upgrade was offered the last time there was a big change and the new installation was free to Onstar subscribers, but you had to go to the dealer because it was VIN dependent.
The first big step before chasing down other parts might be getting past the Onstar hurdle.

I don't have NAV so I can't answer the first part of your question but as far as the download, it works exactly like you bluetooth would in your ear. works off the numbers stored in your phone.
Do you think it would be possible to post the bluetooth use section from the 09 manual, so people who may be looking to do the upgrade might see all the options the new bluetooth for 09 have??

Don't have a scanner but took some pics of the manual better than nothing I guess. Hope it helps
I myself think there is too much wishful thinking going on here as the GM Engineers made it very clear at this years C5/C6 Bash that installing the 09 Bluetooth in cars prior to the 09 model would not be possible. This has been posted several times, but I guess no one wants to believe it. Now as we all know, with enough money, anything is possible. But why would you want to spend 1000's of dollars to intall this when you can have an aftermarket Bluetooth system for only 100's?
If it is that important to have this factory installed option, better start looking to trade your present model in for an 09. This is an option that just is not of any importance to me. If someone out there is able to make it work, then I say great for you.
New OnStar box, BCM software upgrades, several wiring harnesses, new steering wheel and the list goes on and on.
