Default convertible top issue

Does anyone else have similar issues with their vert top?

Maybe because I am still a novice at Vette ownership (my first month) but I am worried about the wrinkles and imbedded dirt in the folds of my convertible top.

Even after leaving it up for days at a time, it still looks crinkled and dirty in some spots.

Maybe because I chose beige instead of black, and it is easier to see?

Please offer any comments about it as it has me concerned.
thanks

I sold my 06 vert with a beige top last year (in preparation for the new 08 coming) and if you immediately put the top up after each use, it should not show lots of dirt and wrinkles....are you leaving it down over night? etc? I do have a black top on my current 08 and have had no issues at all with it. I just wipe my top down with a damp soft cloth....but never leave it down overnight

The tan/ beige top could have something to do with that...? Because of the lighter color wrinkles/ dirt are a lot more noticeable... When I bought my car I went in looking to order a LMB vert with tan cashmere interior/ tan top. The saleman asked if the car was gonna be a daily driver? He then suggested going with the Ebony interior/ black top, a lot less maintenance.

Its because of the color, my top has only been up twice since June. The black just doesn't show the wrinkles as much as the lighter colors. Put it down, leave it down. Enjoy!

I have a Cashmere top. I put it down every chance I get. I do not have any of the problems you describe. However, I never leave it down over night and it is stored in the open with a cover.

I have the gray top and same issues. Do a search on keeping it clean, using either car soap or RaggTop. I used the former and now use the latter.

It is because of the lighter color. I had a white convertible with a black top and it was no problem to keep clean at all. Black is the best color for convertibles...kind of ironic isn't it when you think of how difficult it is to keep a black coupe clean...

Black is the easiest top color to keep clean....try washing it real good and using the Raggtop produces (available at the museum). Hope they help.

The Corvette top does show dirt and wrinkles more than some others, e.g. Porsche, but my '05 has been superb at keeping out water. I think the car is a bit odd looking with the top up any way, but that cosmetic short coming is, in my view, more than offset by how well the top performs its primary function. Plus, I think the car looks great with the top in its proper position- down.
