Navigation question
I need to know how to cancel a POI while driving without canceling the whole trip. Here is what happened:
Driving with a friend to Carlisle. Wanted to show him how voice recognition worked. Said CD, voice said gas station icons. Well it kept tell me to get off at every exit that had a gas station. Quite annoying. How do I cancel the gas station icons without canceling the whole trip route? Could not figure out how to cancel that. I looked in the book and could not figure it out.
Thanks,
Steve
Just to let you know, if you wanted to cancel the trip, you say "delete destination".
Somewhere in my NAV books was a list of all the commands.
will mute.
2. Clearly state one of the commands listed on the following pages. For example, say "FM1."
3. The system will tell you the command being implemented. For example, the system will say "FM1
Radio" and change the audio system to the FM1 source.
You may end voice recognition by not speaking any commands. After about five seconds of silence,
the system will automatically cancel voice recognition.
At times, the system may not understand a spoken command. If this happens, try again. If a spoken
command is not available, the system will provide feedback based on availability.
While using voice recognition, make sure to keep interior noise levels to a minimum. Otherwise, the
system might not recognize voice commands.
The system will only recognize commands spoken in English.

There are just too many to be practical. I memorized a few but my feeble mind overheats if I try to memorize more than a few. There is a quick reference card you can keep in the center console for your passenger to look up.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Command Help Memorize this one and you don't need a cheat sheet in the console.

AM, FM1, FM2, XM1, XM2, CD Is that so hard to remember?
Seek Up, Seek Down, Stop Scan You don't need these when you have buttons on the steering wheel that do the same thing.
Track Up, Previous Track, Track Down Again, just use the steering wheel buttons.
Screen Day Mode, Screen Auto Mode You always want auto mode except vary rarely the it will decide it is a little dark and go to night mode which is hard to see if it isn't night.
Screen Off NEVER use this command. Try it and you will find out why. Hint: Where is Screen On?

Zoom In, Zoom Out To change detail.
Dual Map Mode, Single Map Mode To change map modes.
Preset Destination [Number] Contrary to popular belief you CAN set destinations while driving as long as you have entered it before and saved it in one of the 100+ available slots. You just have to remember the numbers.
Repeat Guidance No, "HUH?" is not a valid command.

Louder, Softer When the tires get worn and noisy.
Voice Guidance Off, Voice Guidance On This isn't rocket science!
Turn List A very valuable mode!
Freeway Seems to be a default when you are on the Interstate. Good when the gas gauge says you must stop NOW!
Detour When you see a lot of brake lights ahead.
Quick, Normal, Short You MUST understand the different routings if you are ever going to appreciate the power of this device! I use all three often.
Auto Service, Gas, Parking, Hospital, Police Station, Airport, Rest Area I hope I don't lose my Man Card for admitting I know these commands.
Restaurant for all food and (country) Food if I'm feeling picky.
And finally POI Off to answer the original question.

Yes, there are a lot more but I haven't found a need for them. BTW, I speak slowly and enunciate each word and get well over 95% recognition.
