Bring long johns and buy a shovel. I'm not a snow lover but 7 mos of the year it's perfect in Vermont. Great area to cruise the highways especially with Fall foliage showing their colors.
Not all that many highways in Vt. At least as far as what most of us would consider highways. In any of the cities, the traffic is terrible. They have more Subaru's per capita than anywhere on earth. It is a vast liberal refuge.
Try the NORTHEAST SECTION too!Bring 7 tons of cold weather gear...you'll need it!There's 3 weeks of summer up here,3 months of summer rain and cold snow!!Why anybody moves up here intentionally is beyond me!
Think Howard Dean , and run, don't walk away from any "opportunity" to move there. The biggest per capita concentration of granola eating nut-jobs in the country.

Spent a week there last fall. Beeeyoutiful country and a great place to have been before the winter sets. As Dorothy sez, "There's no place like home!"
