Default Ticking from Engine???

Hey guys got about 700 miles on my 2008 C6... there is a ticking noise that is coming from the engine area that varies with engine temp. and RPM...??? I took her to the dealership and the tech said he did hear it but also heard it on another 08... he said there was nothing he could see to adjust or fix ...

I am probably a litte abnormal... i really tune into the car and sounds and stuff but this noise is quite noticeable..

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Completely normal. All LSx motors make a pretty good racket, mostly heard as ticking, or as it's been described, a sewing machine.

Between the injectors and valvetrain, and since this is a hi-po motor, they are a little noisy. My 07 LS2 ticked, as did both my 08 Z06s. Nothing to worry about. In fact, either the ticking subsides a little as the motor gets more miles on it, or you get used to it; either way, I don't hear it anymore.

Just thank your lucky stars that it is probably just injector noise, and not piston slap like on my C5........that racket only quieted down once the engine was fully warmed up -- until then it sounded like a drum set keeping time......
