I my tail lights are completely out when my headlights are on ('08 C6Z)!
However, the brake lights work [ when I hit the brakes]! Obivously no bulbs are out! I can't seem to find a fuse that would cause this (maybe I'm missing something?)!?
ok, I checked the park lamp fuse (10A number 8) in the box under the hood and it's fine. The front lights come on no problem.
WEIRD problem!
I check for power on one of the connectors at the rear of the car (in the unlikely event that all my bulbs went out at the same time.. LOL) and there was no juice. I haven't yet found the harness connector but that's next on the agenda.
Are there any other fuse panels on our cars that could have lamp fuses other than the passenger side kick panel and the under the hood fuse block?
Did you try them with only the parking light switch on without the headlights, if they work when the headlights are off I'd look to the headlight relay as the cause.
remove the far right tail light and reach in along the wiring harness until ya come to the connector.I cant recall if ya can get at it under neath. pull the connector apart and look for corosion[common]
As long as you are SURE the front running lights are working, not just the "drl's", then I would suspect the "underhood electrical center is the issue(fuse box).
Just make sure the front marker lights are working! If they are not working in the front, then I think I would try the Park Lamp Relay first. You should be able to switch with another relay to try it.
If the fronts are working, then try tapping on the Electrical center lightly and see if the lights come on.. You may get lucky.
After tracing wires, checking grounds, rechecking every single fuse... I disconnected the battery, reconnected it, and turned the lights on... and guess what... They work again.
Ahh the joys of having a highly modified computer-controlled corvette. :will y:
Bittersweet.... Easy fix - but when will it happen again? Yikes.
I think it might just be time to head on over to the dealership and explain my woes.
The key phrase is "Computer controlled". Must be a Windows based operating system. When all else fails just pull the plug, wait a few minutes and restart. Maybe they should add "Ctrl, Alt and Delete" buttons the instrument panel?
