At least it's functional now (as intended originally) without a stupid useless cut-out in the hatch cause they were too cheap to re-tool the panel.....
Wow Steve,

A little harsh, no?

Yeah, Maybe...Wagging a finger at me because I drilled a hole is a bit ridiculous though......I'm not a preservationist I guess....
All my mods are functional improvements and sometimes require drilling or cutting to achieve the desired result.....so far they've done nothing but improve the car...Others may have a different opinion (apparently!)

The work you do on your car is alwsays well done, well thought out and the innovation is seldom short of amazing. You also of course realize that it is not for everyone. Remember, there are car owners, car enthusiats, Corvette owners and Covette enthusiasts. One does not equal all and all mods certainly aren't for everyone. There are a great many Corvette purists out there and frankly, I'm kind of glad they are as there will always be original examples of great cars for us to see later in the years.

The other part that made me curious was that shortimer hadn't quoted you. I know that you were the one that talked about drilling but he may very well have been simply saying to the OP that he wouldn't do it. Not everyone means and says the same thing with the use of smileys.

The handle is a pretty high-tech part, and installation if very involved. The GM engineers worked for years to get that handle design just right, and once they did, studies later revealed that using it caused tennis elbow and shoulder injuries in a number of owners. After settling class action lawsuits brought on by a group of NYC lawyers, GM elected to make a production change in the 2007 model to eliminate this complicated part, even while knowing that they would thus never recoup the cost of design and development of the handle used on the 2005 and 2006 editions. If you have a 2005, 2006 or early production 2007 coupe, your car is worth thousands more by have the OEM handle installed. Such cars should become collectors favorites in the years to come.

My car has the handle, I put a piece of white tape on it so it's easier to find in the dark. Cheap, easily removable if desired, and surprisingly useful.

Oh, well, I guess I've ruined my increased value by adding the mods I've done so far....

This is what I had in mind when I first asked, I won't install it because I want it to be functional not just bling.

Only if they still have the original Bowling Green air in the tires.
