Just on the back. I find taking off the traction control works best. My driveway ends in a fairly steep 30ft run ending at a rural main road with a speed limit of 50MPH, you want to get out and onto the road in one motion. they are expensive, but so's the car, worth it in my book. They work fine they way I use them. I wouldn't use them to drive with but for getting out of my driveway it's the only option as it ices up pretty bad, and sand alone just don't cut the mustard with the Vet. Even with my AWD SUV with studded snow tires it sometime can be a chore getting out even if it's sanded. I live about 3 miles from Killington Ski area and we get snow from Nov till end of April and sometimes into May. Last winter season we got 282" of snow 62" of that fell after March 1st, I don't think you deal with that kind of snowfall in NJ.

Default Do these tire chains really let you drive in snow or just for quick driveway issues?

I have them for my 96 CE, I only use them to get out of my steep driveway, then I remove them. Allows me to get out in a Vet during the cold long VT winters. We still get some nice days during the winter and going 5-6 months without driving one of my Vets is not an option.

I was just wondering, can you really drive any distance with these in snow?. Will they actually let you go out during bad weather winter driving or are they strictly for emergencies and how well do they work. I have an 05 C6. Can't move in any snow now, would like to if I had to.

This sounds like a guy on the Jeep forum asking how to make his Jeep handle like a Corvette.

For gosh sake get a winter vehicle!

Wow, just wow at this thread at the thought of even attempting such a thing as chains on a Vette.

If I wanted to drive my Vette that badly in the winter months................I would move to a warmer climate.
