Changed to Sirius
The people at XM are as bad as the music they play. Perhaps they "pipe in" their music which in turn puts them in an altered state. I asked if they are going to grant a discount (I have 3 other cars on Sirius) since they have merged the two company's. The all but told me to pi-- off.
So, I called our local car stereo store and as luck would have it, they had 1 SIR GM unit left. I headed over after I hung up, paid slightly too much, and was out in 40 minutes.
They located the Sirius antenna in the channel on the left side of my coupes back glass, in clear site with the glass open, out of site with it closed.
Now the best part, the quality of the Bose system
has improved so much it's as though I replaced the entire stereo. I actually had to back off the bass because of the improved quality. I am convinced that my disappointment with the Bose system can be primarily attributed to the unacceptable tinny XM sound.I could not be more pleased with this "mod" if any of you have been on the fence on this do it, you will have no regrets.
Totally!!!!!!!I also swapped out my XM for Sirius and couldn't be happier. I thought it was just in my mind .. but, after the swap, I noticed that I had to back off on the bass too.
Thanks for sharing.
I've already got one call from XM trying to set up an account and offering me another three months of service for $20.95. I declined.
